Today’s advancements in dental products allow us to provide our patients with beautiful white fillings that mimic natural teeth. No longer is it necessary to have non-esthetic silver/mercury fillings placed to detract from a healthy, beautiful smile. White fillings, also known as composite resins or “dental bonding” can be utilized to restore form, function and esthetics to both back and front teeth.
White fillings are an excellent choice for restoring worn out and cracked old amalgam fillings but do have their limitations based on the size of filling being replaced and the amount of tooth structure that is missing. Very large fillings or severely damaged teeth may not be candidates for bonding and may require the use of dental crowns as long lasting restorations.
Dr. Elston has extensive training in the use and placement of composite resins and enjoys the challenge of providing the most life-like and long-lasting restorations.
